The Nine Modern Day Muses (And a Bodyguard) Third Edition by Jill Badonsky November-2-2010
Ten Guides to Creative Inspiration
Yay! What an honor — this is the first time I've ever been mentioned by name in the Acknowledgements section of a book by its author.
Yes, acclaimed writer, humorist, and "imuseination channeler" Jill Badonsky (themuseisin.com) has surprised and flattered me by including me in her upgraded, expanded third edition of "The Nine Modern Day Muses (And a Bodyguard)" (Renegade Muses Publishing House, 2010), and so now she gets a page in my virtual "15 Minutes of Fame" Web site scrapbook so this moment will be forever chronicled in creative history!
Ahem...
You might wonder how this could possibly happen in a book published three times and endorsed by SARK (planetsark.com) as a "A wonder-full, scrumptious and creatively fulfilling book!" (By the way, SARK also has a new book out, "Glad No Matter What: Transforming Loss and Change Into Gift and Opportunity" [New World Library, 2010.])
Jill will tell you that "the Muses insisted," and I think it's because I've been a long-time fan and promoter of the Muses on Creativity Portal, always thinking fondly of them as the coolest, hippest counterparts to the ancient Nine Athenian (Greek) Muses.
What else? I appreciate how Jill has brilliantly incorporated the practical creative principles the Muses represent into a creativity coaching model she developed (with added elements from Robert Maurer, PhD), called Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coaching™. As a creativity coach trained in this model, I firmly attest to what a truly wonderful, professional, serious, whimsical, playful, and compassionate coaching model KMCC is.
More insight from Jill's blog, Who are the Nine Modern Day Muses (and the Bodyguard)?:
"The Modern Day Muses are playful and profoundly practical ways to tap into your creativity and overcome the blocks of fear, overwhelm, perfectionism, procrastination, low-self confidence, self-sabotage, being 'focus-challenged', and having difficulty making time. Each Modern Day Muse gifts the creativity seeker with tools, thoughts, exercises, quotes, journal exercises and brainstorms that trick them into falling into the creative flow...effortlessly."
Enough about that.. Look at my name on the Acknowledgements page right before Jill thanks her cats, Mambo and Sappho (in all fairness to cats, they really should have been listed before me):

So there it is. Please celebrate this moment with me, with the compassionate understanding that in 100 years when someone not born yet downloads this book off Amazon.com and reads it in their brain-embedded digital reader as a piece of historic, ground-breaking creativity coaching literature, my name will appear as mere pixels of a person who long-left this ethersphere, unknown to most, but who was worthy of being recognized by an amazing author who left such a Muse inspiring gift to the world when manual digitrus ink pens were still in use.
Joking aside, if I've kept your interest in Jill's Muses and upgraded book thus far, don't miss out on reading her two short, fun articles on Creativity Portal in celebration of the Third Edition launch:

Oh wait, that was yesterday… correction… BOOK REVISION!!!!!!

Finally, I'd like to thank...The Academy...and Jill, Sappho, Mambo, Aha-Phrodite, Arnold, Marge, Spills, Audacity, Muse Song, Albert, Lull, Shadow, and Bea Silly, for this most prestigious honor. Meow. •
