Nit Wits #11: Symbil

The proliferation of virtual communication via instant messaging, chat, and discussion boards has spawned a generation of sideways symbol "emoticons" one can insert into their exchange to express a particular emotion at any given moment.
Having observed the integrated use (and being party to myself) of such symbols, I couldn't help but think how quickly feelings seem to come and go during online exchanges. The resulting written record that we can revisit at a later time might reveal patterns in ourselves that we are surprised to see. How do your moods swing online?
