Cat lovers will appreciate the subtle humor in Purrassic Park. Inspired by the magnificent dinosaurs in the movie Jurassic Park, kitty's tail hovering slightly among the thick jungle of house plants was reminiscent of the large-body-thin-necked Brachiosaurus looking for lunch.

More Cat Tails

I've always felt that a cat's tail is independent of the feline it's attached to. When I was a child, I remember wondering if a cat's tail was really a snake-like entity attached at the catboose (ha!).

Nowadays, I'm leaning more towards seeing the tail as an emotional outlet for kitty since she can't verbalize her annoyed thoughts such as "My water dish has things floating in it AGAIN!" When she's annoyed, her tail twitches wildly. When she's content, it just floats upward with the tip slightly curled over. When I see her catboose that way, I can't help but to think of a happy Brachiosaurus looking for some leaves to munch on.

I'm glad humans don't have tails. Can you imagine how difficult it would then be to mask our true feelings in our relationship game-playing?

He: "Honey, what's the matter?"

She: "Nothing." [tail twitches wildly]
