The English language is full of many confusing words and categories thereof. Homophones, homonym's, synonyms, antonyms, and so on. The eyes of the potato reminded me of this frustrating truth for those who are new to the the language. It's a good thing potatoes know the difference!

Nitwits #3: Homophone Eyes © Chris DunmireWord play is one of my favorite creative exercises, and the English language by default creates lot of opportunities to do it. Consider homophones, a phenomenon where you have similar sounding words, spelled differently, and with different meanings. The example I used in Nit Wits #3 was eye, aye, and I.

I chose the lowly potato as a platform for my word play because, well you know... aging potatoes grow "eyes." See my point?
