Nit Wits #37: Hand Mirror Dec-31-2007
Getting a Grip on Alternate Realities by Chris Dunmire

Bonus Free Fun: Learn how to draw a hand mirror on my fun printable e-playbook page "You Can Draw Cartoony Things!"

Part of the fun of allowing free-ative thinking is our ability to imagine the silly, absurd, and impossible and manifest scenarios through our our mind's eye (or imagination) that challenges, humors, and delights us. And when you think about it, the ability to do this has no bottom to it. Endless creative possibilities await with baited breath behind the purple door just hoping you'll open it...

And now I quote myself in between fancy top and bottom rules:

“If you can think it,
you've just created it,
even if you can't
hold it in your hand.”

— Chris Dunmire

Yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes. Doesn't it make you giggle to imagine how the little Hamburger Helper mascot satired above (though not sitting) could possibly see himself in a hand mirror? On first pass, it would be awkward for him if he just simply picks it up and contorts himself around his four fingers. I'm sure between you and me, we can think up 10 more creative ways he could accomplish the task with ease if he thinks outside of the 'help her make a great meal' jingle box.

Creativity / Writing Prompt:

List 5 ways the little gloved one can have an assured win-win reflecting on himself and seeing all of his fingers upright. Tap into that imagination of yours and take it away! (Hint, someone else can help lend a hand...) •
