Exclusive SARK Interview & Podcast
on Creativity-Portal.com
Let me revel in a delightful few minutes of pure joy as I rest here on this tremendous milestone accomplishment for the Creativity Portal Web site and for a very courageous interviewer that I'm honored to know.
I'm extremely pleased to present to the world a recorded interview with Susan Ariel Rainbow Kennedy — known to her fans worldwide as SARK (www.PlanetSark.com) — one of the most luminous creativity icons of our generation. (Encyclopedias of the future will undoubtedly list SARK as an adjective with some kind of "sparkly, glittery" quality, I'm sure. Meanwhile, here's my own tidbit experiences with her SARKness).
Yes, Molly Anderson-Childers' brand-new (Feb. 26, 2008) interview with SARK has been in the works since last fall, and now is a "perfectly imperfect" manifestation of visual and audio art that will go on to feed and nourish millions of creative souls all over the world until time indefinite (thank you, Internet!).
If you'd like to consume this inspiring creative feast, you have two options: read the interview on the Creativity Portal or listen to all 122 minutes of its real-time glory on your computer or iPod in a downloadable MP3 Podcast file (intro link, interview link).
(Clever Chris Techy Note: The audio version includes bonus spontaneity, laughter, and a wide range of infectious inflections and raw honesty that will only translate if you use your ear and heart plug-ins.)
My favorite pieces of this cozy conversation include the Pizza/Waitress story, the "Fabulous Friendship Festival" book discussion, Mercy Killing for Tired Phrases, and SARK's secret "body ruler." Curious? Go read or listen!
By the way, this inner-view (that's a SARK word) is unlike many clipping-along Q & A sessions; it's more like eavesdropping in on a personal conversation between two artist friends. It's so honest and raw in places that you'll undoubtedly see yourself, recognize your struggles, and shore up your strengths and resolve as you read or listen along.
After you take in this interview, please go experience more of SARK's magic at PlanetSark.com or call her Inspiration Phone Line at (415) 546-3742 and leave her a message about the interview and how it's touched you. I just called a few minutes ago and heard her singing a twist of "Amazing Grace."
Most of all, thank you to both Molly and SARK for this collaborative co-creation, for not denying us your wonder-full energy, and for your generosity in taking time to nourish our spirits! Now, I'm off to do the happy dance. •
