"Small Steps, Uncommon Results"
By Chris Dunmire
In late-January 2009, I enrolled in a life-changing experience, learning about and trying out new tools in my personal creative life from an 'innovatingly different' type of creativity coaching and coach training model founded by Jill Badonsky and Robert Mauer, PhD, in 2006 known as Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coaching (KMCC).
What makes KMCC different from other creativity coaching models? For starters, "KMCC respects the non-linear nature of creativity, the natural
resistances, fears and sensitivities that a person approaching
a creative-process experiences. KMCC utilizes powerful
concrete methods necessary to make progress within the
realm of this elusive process."
You can visit the official www.kaizenmuse.com Web site to learn everything there is to know about this model if you'd like, including when free monthly ' taste of coaching' conference calls are scheduled.
I am so impressed by the hands-on experience, tools, and philosophy supporting the KMCC model, as well as the comprehensive and thorough certification program and support that's offered around it (especially post-training) that it's the only creativity coaching training program and model I can wholeheartedly recommend at this time to fellow creatives, to artistic souls who are open to life's mysteries and who value compassion over dogma.
Surely you'll recognize Jill Badonsky as a regular columnist on the Creativity Portal Web site. Over the years she's generously shared exclusive book excerpts and a wealth of creativity-related information about her hilariously inspiring Nine Modern Day Muses, Body Blissmas program, and new 'Daily Dose of Wonder', The Awe-manac.
Prior to this training, I've known Jill only as a creative colleague. Since our months of KMCC training together, however, I've come to know her more personally as an accomplished professional, effective teacher, compassionate coach, and genuinely joyful and fun person to spend time with. She doesn't know this yet, but I consider her one of my most important creativity mentors whom I have the highest regard and respect. I am so grateful to have connected with this amazing, talented, funny, authentic, and compassionate woman.
Our KMCC class is ending in a few weeks (the next one begins in August), so I look forward to integrating what I've learned and sharing more about this model in my own coaching and writings in the coming months. •
