Ashleigh Ryman, marketing executive at
ThinkBuzan.com contacted me about taking part in 'a brand-new, ambitious new study their company is conducting, by way of an all-encompassing Creativity Test developed by Tony Buzan (leading lecturer on the brain and learning) called the ThinkBuzan System Test.' Ashleigh's given me permission to reproduce her e-mail below to share the finer details of the study, which you're invited also to take part in. She writes:
"Our company founder, Tony Buzan — leading lecturer on the brain and learning — has devised a brand new, all encompassing Creativity Test.
We want to get a true measure of the creative levels of the population and change the way creativity is defined. We are now conducting a mass pilot study and would like to invite you to take part. The ThinkBuzan System Test is completely free, takes 20 minutes or less, and will help us to make huge leaps forward in this exciting field.
How often can we say that we’ve made a global difference? This is our chance to assess creativity and defend against what Harvard Business Review called our “looming creativity crisis”. Once you have taken the test, our ThinkBuzan experts and a team of psychology experts will compile all of your results in order to find out the average creativity score across a mass global audience.
Please tell your followers so we can get the most valuable and representative results possible — and make our first steps towards a world of brighter, more creative minds.
Take the test before Wednesday 12th May to be included in our global results!

We would also love to get your feedback on the test. It is a pilot run and we want to glean as much information as possible to build upon for future phases of the study. I really hope you decide to take part and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Eager to do my part in helping contribute to a 'world of brighter, more creative minds', I took the test today so as not to miss out on being compiled into the global results. An interesting exercise indeed!
The only item I found lacking in the 'test-taking logistics department' was a running timer to show where I was in the stream of time during the timed questions. Not knowing (I wasn't running my own timer) caused extra stress and uncertainty about whether I was exceeding or falling short of my allotted time for answering some questions. Of course I submitted this as feedback for the pilot run, but the obviousness of not having a running timer keeps me wondering if no timer was an intentional built-in piece of the creativity test. :) Or maybe it was just my particular browser or a javascript glitch. It doesn't matter now, I've taken the creativity test and left my potential mark in history. And so can you — take the Creativity Test at Buzan.com. •
