Protaxtinate vb -nat-ed; -nating : The innate ability to procrastinate (put off, ignore, etc.) on filing yearly income taxes. — from the Christionary of made-up words
What's Your Level of ProTAXtination? Take My Survey!
Are you a protaxtinator? Find out by answering this one simple question (as if you didn't already know...):
When do you file your yearly income taxes:
(a) As soon as I get all of my W2s in the mail.
(b) By January 31.
(c) Somewhere between February and March.
(d) On April 15.
(e) I file an extension.
(f) On April 15 of the following year.
(g) What are income taxes?
(h) Never. No government ain' t gittin' my money!
If you answered:
a = Your level of protaxtination is LOW. You are a good rule follower or really need that return money!
b = Your level of protaxtination is LOW. Yep, you really need that money, don't you?
c = Your level of protaxtination is LOW to MODERATE. Welcome to the world of averages!
d = Your level of protaxtination is HIGH. Maybe you're forgetful (get some yellow Post-It Notes). If you're motivated by deadlines, your stress level is probably high too. If you keep asking yourself year after year: "Why do I keep waiting until the last minute?" a time-management course may be in order.
e = Your level of protaxtination is HIGH. You are probably self-employed and slacked off sending your quarterly payments in, didn't you? Dude, the best advice here is to stay on top of your business. The hole yer diggin' with this pattern is going to catch up with you one day and get in the way of something really important you're going to need or want to do.
f = Your level of protaxtination is THROUGH THE ROOF. See "e" and consult a business coach.
g = Your level of protaxtination is OUT OF THIS WORLD. You have other things to be concerned about besides your protaxtination level. How do you do it?
h = Your level of protaxtination is NON-EXISTANT. At least until the IRS shows up at your cabin-in-the-woods door. See you in 3 to 5!
