"The Lights of Christmas Eve" Posted Dec-24-2005
Two things that move me the most during the holiday season are the music and the lights. I can listen quietly to old Christmas songs created before my time and gaze into the dancing bulbs on a string of Christmas lights and be content at soul level.

The music and lights carry an energy that transcends the materialistic level of the Christmas holiday. This is essence of my above "The Lights of Christmas Eve" piece.

Well, I did it. I turned one of my Nit Wits comics into a painting and donated it to a local non-profit organization for an annual art benefit in early December 2005. ... But not before taking an endless number of insecure-artist breaths and quadruple-checking myself with the question, "Are you sure you want to do this?" ...

It's 'snow' fun sledding without a sled!
Variations on this classic runner sled Christmas tree ornament have been around at least since the days of my elementary school Secret Santa Workshops. In fact, I'd venture to say this idea is as old as the first ice cream served on a Popsicle stick!

I figured out how to make one of these nifty sleds by memory with eight wooden craft sticks, some glue, acrylic paint, and curling ribbon. Then I took it out into my backyard and ran it down a huge hill. Works pretty good if you're about three inches tall. Oh, and they make great gifts!
