Could You Paint On the Outside of the Frame?

Fun-Storming 'Outside of the Box'
Imagine: You love to paint. You're standing in front of a blank canvas mounted inside of a beautiful frame. You have permission to paint anything on the canvas that your heart desires — with this one catch...

An Overlooked Truth about Creativity
Do you feel that you're somehow lacking in the creativity department? If so, you're not alone. A magazine poll revealed that 86% of its respondents wished that they were more creative. Here's my creativity coach thoughts on why that number is so high and how easily it can be changed. ...

What I Learned at Kids Art Camp — Lesson #3: Creativity Doesn't Always Need to Be Serious Business
In June I had the privilege of helping teach a week-long kid’s art camp for a group of 6 to 9-year-olds, my second year at apprenticing under two amazing professional women art instructors who together have more decades of teaching experience under their belts than I’ve been alive. ...

Coaching Writers... Check! Posted Jul-8-2006
Completing Dr. Maisel's Coaching Writers Training
"Granted June 15, 2006." I've now finished three of Eric Maisel's trainings: Creativity Coaching, Coaching Visual Artists, and Coaching Writers. For nine months I've been immersed in coaching and self-coaching modules, learning and absorbing an invigorating amount of information and experience from Eric, fellow coaches, and my own clients.

This coaching (and self-coaching) journey has been an amazing life-altering and affirming experience for me. At no other time in my life have I been more sure that the creative path I walk each day and the work I do in support of the creative lives of others is indeed a calling. Many years ago in the corporate world I was introduced to my strength as a facilitator. Little did I know back then how meaningful that trait would 'grow on' to become in my life.

At this very moment I feel like I am standing upon the edge of an ocean cliff looking down over its cresting waves. The ocean is alive with dynamic energy and has an eternal life expressed with expanding currentous motion. Once again, I am ready to dive into this wondrous thrashing entity and trust in myself that I can swim. I believe we all have an ocean full of creative potential before us to to explore and experience if we choose to. The flowing waters of creative expression will always welcome you.

Satisfying Creative Hunger: Holding On to a Sense of Wonder
Posted Jul-1-2006
Dancing with the Moments in Our Life
One of my favorite songs to listen to right now is Lee Ann Womack's "I Hope You Dance." The song begins:

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat, but always keep that hunger...
