Deanne Fitzpatrick's 101 Ideas for Living Creatively November-18-2008
Hooking Your Attention
I've plucked three new to-do's from Canadian rug-hooking artist Deanne Fitzpatrick's (hookingrugs.com) list of 101 Ideas for Living Creatively:

  1. Spend a day in someone else’s shoes — even in your imagination
  2. Invite someone you don’t know well to an impromptu lunch
  3. Sit by the sea

Let's see... who's shoes can I fill for a day having an impromptu lunch by the sea with someone I don't know well? Wait. Should the real me or pretend shoe-filling me be having lunch with the unknown person? What if they know me better than I know them AND what if the shoes are two sizes too big? No matter!

Have some fun single-handedly accomplishing things off Deanne's list or combine two or more ideas for more dynamic combinations. There's 98 more ideas just waiting to hook your attention in Deanne's list published on the Creativity Portal. •

Jill Badonsky's Awe-Manac: Daily Dose of Wonder

Sneak Preview to Jill Badonsky's New Daily Dose of Wonder: The Awe-Manac November-16-2008
Creatively Amusing
As I mentioned in the November 15 Creativity Portal NewZine, author of "The Nine Modern Day Muses and a Bodyguard" Jill Badonsky (themuseisin.com) has a new book hot off the press titled "The Awe-Manac: A Daily Dose of Wonder" (available for pre-order on Amazon).

As Jill is a frequent contributor to the Creativity Portal Web site with a monthly column related to her muses and Kaizen-Muse creativity coaching, I've known about this book project since last year and have anticipated the exclusive promotional teaser Jill "leaked" to us this week. With plenty of "Jillustrations" mirth and muse, here's Jill's official Sneak Preview of The Awe-manac: A Daily Dose of Wonder. Enjoy! •

Found Art! Shenanigans November-3-2008
Infamous Found Art! Library Experiment
Wouldn't it be fun to find some art? In 2004 I participated in my own Found Art! fun and chronicled my Mission Un-Impossible story, now accessible for your enjoyment in my Inner Diablog archives. Unfortunately, it appears that the official Found Art! Web site is offline or at least suspended right now, so I'm not sure if the project is still running.

The Found Art! projects I made for the library experiment led me to writing up and publishing instructions for my Painted Dream Journal, a nifty altered book project you can use to record your dreams, write your desires, or sketch your art. •
