Girls Grow Strong and Make New Friends With New Junior Membership Program at Womanspace
September-8-2010
Chris' News Article Published November 2009
I know I'm nearly a year late with this, but it's still 15-Minutes worthy to mention the news article I wrote for the non-profit organization Womanspace for their inaugural issue of Developments, news for their supporters and donors.
Womanspace is celebrating their 35th anniversary this year, which means I still had all my baby teeth when they first opened their doors back in the 1970s. As you might guess, Womanspace was initially geared towards personal development for women, but it's evolved through the years and welcomes women, men, and children into their membership. In fact, the article I wrote reported on their new Junior Membership tier of members, which fosters many wonderful qualities in girl 'tweens, among them creativity, volunteering, and leadership skills.
I've volunteered for art camps and taught art playshops and other creativity-related workshops at Womanspace since 2005. •
