Help Me Interview Recycled Percussion Band!
Collaborative Interview Alert!

What would you like to know about Recycled Percussion Band? After appearing on America's Got Talent, they went on to seal a deal at MGM Grand and are now the next biggest headlining act in Las Vegas, incorporating creativity, recycled items, and interactive participation into their nightly performances.

I first blogged about RPB in 2009 after seeing their performance on AGT and was surprised when their publicist recently contacted me to arrange an interview. The band has done well for itself and I'd love to turn this interview op into a collaborative effort!

Submit your questions to me about the band and its members by April 1, 2011, along with your name and Web site link with the subject RPB Interview for possible inclusion in my upcoming interview. •

Cultural Creatives 1.0 — THE (R)EVOLUTION
"How 200 million people are changing the world!"

"Cultural Creatives" is a topic close to my heart as I have identified with this collective for many years, experiencing an undeniable shift and awareness about the world through my personal life journey and work around creativity. My ultimate desire (and may the legacy of my life and work reflect) a positive contribution to the world towards fulfilling the highest good for all.

Movie maker Frigyes Fogel recently informed me about the Cultural Creatives 1.0 — THE (R)EVOLUTION project, which is "the first international movie about Cultural Creatives .... and the first historical documentary showing increasing numbers of people that have experienced enormous changes in consciousness and providing examples through their own initiatives, thus giving humanity an opportunity to find solutions to the issues that we face in the 21st century."

It's all very interesting. Learn more about the project and watch the movie online at culturalcreatives.cc »

World's Smallest Sand Castle by Chris Dunmire

Chris Dunmire's 'World's Smallest Sand Castle' April Fool’s Joke
April Fool's Fun for Teachers, Parents, & Practical Pranksters!

Each year around April 1 my famous* World's Hardest Word Search Puzzles become a hot download, especially for educators. It pleases me to no end to think of all the classrooms full of kids trying to find words in my puzzles that *aren't there* — not to mention the devious collective of teachers standing at the sidelines pulling mass April Fool's day jokes on hordes of innocent children. Doodling: Attention Deficit Disorder or Surplus Reorder?
Resurrected from Chris's ArtsBowl Blog Pixel Dust

So, even if doodling is unconscious space-filler that allows minds to wander through inked lines and shapes during passive moments of learning and lulls in conversation, do you think it has any merit as an art form or learning tool? More »

Eric Maisel On Why Creating Produces So Much Anxiety
Mastering Creative Anxiety Interview

“You can try to handle the anxiety that arises [in creating] by drinking too much or by using addictive drugs. All the methods available to avoid anxiety, like fleeing the creative encounter, or ineffectively managing anxiety, like getting drunk, are second-rate.” — Eric Maisel, PhD

The information Eric Maisel shares about anxiety-management techniques in his new book is not just useful for creative people, but for all people dealing with anxiety. Transferable life skills indeed . . . as we each create our own realities and lives one moment at a time. More »

The Right-Brain Business Plan by Jennifer Lee

On Jennifer Lee's 'The Right-Brain Business Plan'
A Creative, Visual Map for Success

If like many of us creatives, you have little desire to read about the business end of creativity (but are painfully aware of its important place — its sustaining necessity — in the big scheme of things), let this confession comfort you: I recoiled at the words "Business Plan" on the book's cover. Lucas Lombardi Jatoba: Goodbye Barcelona! / Adéu, Barcelona!
With Jessica Allossery's Song 'Change the World'

CNN isn't the only source of news going on in the world. If today's headlines got you down, change the channel and affirm that there's an abundance of love and hope in the hearts of so many people on this good earth, stretching across man-made boundaries (of all kinds), and they're sharing it in small acts of kindness every day.

See if you don't feel inspired by this creatively uplifting change the world YouTube video Lucas Lombardi Jatoba made to say goodbye to Barcelona (he's moved to Sydney, Australia).

Here's what he said about the video:

"My name is Lucas, I´m Brazilian and I have been really happy living in Barcelona in the last three years and that’s why I’d like to say goodbye being grateful to the city in a special and different way. So I made a video with a message that should be shared with everyone. I hope you enjoy it.

The complete history is that I first made this video with only seven balloons and seven tickets to the theatre. Later, a Spanish website (atrapalo.com) contacted me and offered me a donation of 250 tickets to the theatre. Of course I took it and made the video again. :)

Searching for a song I found this canadian singer called Jessica Allossery and she gave me the rights of her beautiful song "Change the World."

Thank you, Lucas. I did enjoy it — the message and music work wonders in shifting one's state of mind and vision of our potential when good works come into play. Jessica Allossery's music and vocals make a beautiful backdrop to this visual story — and how awesome that atrapalo.com donated 250 more tickets to your project!

I enjoyed it so much that I'm posting it here, in hopes to share some good energy with those who stop by. It's cool to see the unmistakable synergy at play as one person's act of gratitude multiplies in this fashion, pleasantly pulling in more willing participants. Can you imagine the fun at discovering a free ticket floating down from the sky into your hands? Talk about found art! •
