On the Ball
with Batz Posted
Jan-31-2005
Michele Batz is one of the most enthusiastic physical
education teachers I've ever met. Oh, she's not just a
teacher — she's
also a certified trainer and a writer. That's right, she's
passionate not only about getting in shape, but in writing
books and articles to motivate people towards achieving a
higher level of mental and physical fitness.
In 2004, Michele wrote a book titled, What's Holding
You Back? A Woman's Beginning Guide to Fitness. The
book combines a fitness journal with motivating back-to-the-basics
advice from Michele.
Tidbits from the review I wrote for her book:
A New Attitude: 21 Days that WILL Change Your Life
If you are serious about incorporating healthier habits
into your life, and enjoy journaling as a tool to self-discovery
and measuring progress, you'll appreciate the approach Batz
takes in her new book, What's Holding You Back? A Woman's
Beginning Guide to Fitness (Nightengale Press, $14.95).
This back-to-the-basics book isn't about the latest workout
techniques or philosophies touted on late-night infomercials.
Nor is it an unmotivating work that you'll soon want to
tuck away with your other books full of "good intentions." No,
this is a doing workbook that you can begin at any time,
at any fitness level.
Michele is currently promoting What's Holding You Back? at book signings around the Chicagoland
area.
Despite her busy schedule teaching elementary school children
and taking care of her own family, Michele continues to dream
big and write about fitness. Her column can be found
in the News
Sun newspaper, and
her articles on CurrentLiving.com, eFitness.com,
and eDiets.com. •
